Part 1: Monte Carlo Simulations in MATLAB (Tutorial)

In this video I explain what a Monte Carlo Simulation is and the uses of them and I go through how to write a simple simulation using MATLAB.

Code on my GitHub: https://github.com/jamesldalton/Monte-Carlo

(Example) What is the probability of a hand of 5 cards drawn from a fair deck of 52 cards being all hearts?

Comments

Cameron Lerch says:

Am I mistaken, or is the probability of drawing 5 hearts in a row without replacing the cards each time P=0.000495198. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=(13%2F52)(12%2F51)(11%2F50)(10%2F49)(9%2F48)
Either way, great video and thank you!

Carolina Esperança Pompeu says:

I´d like to see how to simulate an example of conditional probability using Montecarlo in Matlab

Mariana Oliveira says:

Good job my friend. How are the kids?
Can’t wait to see your next masterpiece!

Shaibal Ahmed says:

Very nice example, thank you.
